I finished my first week as gallery owner this week, and let me tell you, it flew by! I took down one exhibition and put up another in one day. I had meting with artists, meetings with designers, conversations with printers and framers, and some promising leads on some fantastic future exhibitions. It pays to be organized, because much of what I did this week would have been a nightmare if it wasn’t planned out and scheduled in advance.
Today starts Day #1 as Owner / Director of Panopticon Gallery. Our new website will launch tomorrow! We have a few new artists and some wonderful exhibitions in the works. Please come by and visit whenever you get the chance. I will begin blogging from the Panopticon blog starting next week.
Beginning May 14th, I will become the new owner of the Panopticon Gallery in Boston, MA. After close to 40 years as the oldest photography gallery in Boston and one of the oldest photography galleries and dealers in the United States, Tony Decaneas approached me to carry on the tradition and continue to grow the Panopticon business in Boston. I am looking forward to this opportunity of a lifetime. If you are in Boston this summer, I hope you will stop by and say Hi! We are located in Kenmore Square, near Fenway Park.

French Photographer, Willy Ronis, died September 12th 2009. A contemporary of Henri Cartier-Bresson and Robert Doisneau, Ronis was best known for his portrayals of life in post-war Paris and Provence, displaying a ‘humanist’ approach to photography.
