Concert Review: Tom Misch at Roadrunner

It had been four years since Tom Misch was back in the U.S. and last night he and his band helped kick off the first week at a brand new venue in Boston called Roadrunner. His set began with the track What Kinda Music from the album he put out with drummer Yussef Dayes that has a cinematic vibe to it like it belongs in a Jason Bourne movie.

Misch first gained notoriety as a beat maker, creating songs by himself from his bedroom studio in London. Now he is joined by a seven piece band plus himself and is now touring like a seasoned professional.

Besides showcasing tracks from Geography and his Quarantine Sessions, he also shared a few new tracks. When he played the song Movie, the flame from two lonely lighters ebbed and flowed in unison with a sea of illuminated smart phones. Misch closed out the show with two of his more popular tunes, Lost In Paris and the track South of the River.
